Bethany Church as Servant to God's People

God calls us into the church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship and to be God's servants in the service of the whole human family.

At Bethany Church, we reach out in service to those both near and far. We are a church that has a strong commitment to missions, both through our monetary gifts and personal service.

Our Mission Committee co-ordinates mission projects that reach near and far. Bethany Kitchen is a twice-monthly hot meal service that provides both food and fellowship to many in our wider community. We collect food and clothing for Good Neighbors, and coordinate a distribution service for surplus bakery items from a local grocery. Through the SARA project, we sort and package medicines for delivery to the Ukraine. Our support of Our Church's Wider Mission provides aid to refugees and those in crisis situations and well as self-help programs throughout the world.

Our youth have established a special relationship with the children of Ponca Creek United Church of Christ in South Dakota, and travel there each year to provide a Bible School. We also support several of the Ponca Creek youth through scholarships to assist with higher education.

We care for each other through visits to our shut-ins, help with meals and household chores, transportation to medical appointments and providing Home Communion. The Ministry Committee sends cards and delivers flowers to those who are ill Through our Stephen Ministries program, a caring, listing person is ready to listen and help in times when a listening ear is needed.

We are a giving church, and strongly support both our ministries and missions through our giving. The Bethany Angel Project has provided additional funds to assist with our mission outreach as has the bi-annual craft show, the Bethany Hobbyrama.
